Please have a look on the article I had written long back. This might give you some insights as I had tried collating the issues we faced during a PoC on groupware integration and also steps on how to resolve the issues.
For point 1, I think you need to synchronize manually everytime you want sync to happen between both applications. (Not sure if the latest versions have started supporting auto-sync feature)
For point 2: I didnt understand the issue. please elaborate.
For point 3: Are you SAPConnect settings done correctly. Please check with your basis team. Have you completed the outbound Email set-up?
Also, plz do the one-to-one email settings and see if that helps.
